Staff at River East Transcona School and Prairie Rose School Division provisionally agreed to a new collective agreement, while office workers, computer and library technicians at Seven Oaks School Division ratified a new agreement last night. ”Hours before auxiliary staff began a legal strike, the River East Transcona School Board agreed to enter into a fair contract with their workers,” says Lee McLeod, CUPE Regional Director. ”We thank all employees and the Board of Directors of river east transcona, prairie rose and seven Oaks School Division for their hard work in reaching a fair agreement, especially with the provincial government`s ongoing efforts to retain school staff.” The Brandon School Division (CUPE 737) also recently obtained a new collective agreement following a significant strike mandate by employees. .
